Beyond the Walls

The historic center is not a museum isolated from the rest of the city. Around the walls, neighborhoods like San Marco, residential and tree-lined, Sant'Anna, with markets and schools that don't depend on tourist traffic, and San Concordio and Arancio, more modern, show how Lucca remains genuinely inhabited.
